Anglers Quest 2010 Lake Houston Individual Series #5 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 8 anglers showing up to fish for the $1080.00 purse. This 5th Houston event of 2010 was started after the playing of the National Anthem at 6:00 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Lake Houston Individual Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Houston Individual Series events.

FLASH — All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The teams or individuals entering all 9 or any team or individual entering the remaining 5 (May-Sept) Weekend Team or Individual series events will automatically qualify for all 4 Series Championships. Top 25 in pounds from any Weekend Team or Individual Series with a minimum of 5 events entered will also qualify for championship. If you qualify for any A/Q Championship you will also qualify to go to the 2-day ?Tournament of Champions? on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine.

Lake Houston water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 76-79 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a windy 71 degrees with a warming to 90 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was really good on Lake Mud today as there were 3 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 20 bass at 48.10 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.40 lb.

Bobby Behrend from Baytown, Tx ran his Champion/Mercury to Luces Bayou creek areas to catch his bass using his American Rodsmiths rods with Shimano reels tipped with Tx rigged Kicker Fish plastic baits around docks & piers with brush in 2-6 ft of water. Bobby managed to catch 9 keepers to finish in 1st place with his best 5 bass at 14.38 lbs. Bobby also had the Big Bass of the event at a fine 5.30 lber. These best 5 bites made Bobby $880.00 for his day on the water. Bobby also owns a Bass Guard culling system that paid him an additional $50.00 making his day worth $930.00.

The Tiremax wrapped BassCat/Rude of Ricky Guy ran his Bowden Marine prepped bass rig to south & north creek areas and used his American Rodsmiths rods with Shimano reels to flip Tx rigged worms in 1-4 ft water all day. Ricky caught 12-14 keepers and finished in 2nd place with his best 5 bass at 13.77 lbs. Ricky received $160.00 for his day on the water.

Randy Quin took home the Santone Lures & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates for his day on the water. Randy had 4 bass that tipped the scales at 7.84 lbs.

The Lake Houston Tuesday Series started on March 30th and will continue for 23 weeks until August 31st at 6:00-9:15 pm at Lake Houston Marina. The Wednesday Conroe Series started on March 31st and will continue for 23 weeks until September 1st at 6:00-9:15 pm at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe. Both of these series will have their own home lake championships in October.

Anglers Quest will be at Lake Conroe at El Dorado Jack’s on May 29th & 30th for the Individual Series on Saturday & the Team Series on Sunday. A/Q will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn June 5th & 6th for the 6th of 9 Rayburn Weekend Team Series & Individual Series events. Then on June 8th & 9th it is back to Tuesday & Wednesday series events. On June 12th & 13th A/Q will be at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston for the 6th of 9 Weekend Team & Individual Series events.
