C.A.S.T/NORTH held their first tournament of 2001 at one of the best Black Bass lakes in the state of Texas, Cedar Creek Lake. When you mix a rainy day, good water conditions and white spinner baits together at a lake like Cedar Creek the results are usually excellent.
This proved to be the rule once again because it took more that a 9 Lb stringer to be in the money. Margaret Sherbert produced a 4.40 Lb black beauty for Big Bass by fishing the back of coves on the Clear Creek arm of the lake while casting a white spinner bait.
John Bills landed a 4.35 Lb bigmouth for second place Big Bass while fishing a white spinner bait across windy points in the Clear Creek arm.
Brandon and Johanna Brewer made their debut with C.A.S.T./North by presenting the winning stringer of the day, 13.05 LBS. Brandon and Johanna fished an area of about 25 yards in the back of a creek in the Clear Creek arm where, after recent rains the lake has risen back to normal levels covering a 2 – 3 foot growth of small trees, brush and weeds. Brandon and Johanna used a white spinner bait to bag a five fish limit.
