Burkett Wins Bass Fishing League Arkie Division On Lake Dardanelle

WHAT: Bill Burkett of Paris, Ark., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 16 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday, June 19, 2010 to win $5,718 in the FLW BFL Arkie Division tournament on Lake Dardanelle. Burkett was fishing brush piles using a topwater worm to sack his limit.

WHAT: Maurice Smith of Jacksonville, Ark., caught 2-bass weighing 10 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday, June 19, 2010 to win $1,859 in the FLW BFL Arkie Co-angler Division on Lake Dardanelle. Smith was using a Zoom brush hog on a Carolina rig around ledges to bring in his winning catch.

NOTES: The next and last BFL Arkie Division tournament of 2010 is scheduled for Oct. 2-3, at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Ark. After the fifth Arkie Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at Lake Texoma in Denison, Texas, on Oct. 14-16, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
