C.A.S.T./North completed their Lake Texoma Tournament after weathering heavy rains, lightning and 30 mph winds.

Mother Nature must have needed the bad weather Sunday so that She could produce some good fishing for the C.A.S.T./North Couples. May is normally a great month of fish Lake Texoma because the fish are still spawning and the Smallmouths’ are stacking up on the main lake points. Depsite the inclement weather the lake gave up several limits of nice sized Bass, the two largest being Smallmouths. Snake and Penny Allen brought in their 4.90 lbs Big Bass of the day with Mike and Kellye Mellen a close second with their 4.50 lb Smallmouth.

Ninety percent of the couples caught fish for a total stringer weight of 132 lbs., which was a pretty good feat considering most couples spent at least an hour under whatever shelter they could find, and several had to return to their vehicles to change into dry clothes.

The top six teams in the C.A.S.T./North Regin Tournament were:
1. David & Tammy Waller – 14.40 lbs
2. Allen Hennan & Barbara Lyne – 14.35 lbs
3. Billy & Kelly KIng – 9.75 lbs
4. Michael & Kellye Mellen – 9.15 lbs
5. Rod & Rosanne Simpson – 8.85 lbs
6. Scott & Bonnie Walt – 8.30 lbs

C.A.S.T. also had an exciting moment for Tim & Rhonda McDaniel, they have been faithful C.A.S.T. members for the last two years, but Rhonda had yet to boat a keeper fish until Sunday, when she landed a Black Bass weighing 1.85 lbs, just 45 minutes before weigh-in.
