Chris McCall & “Buddy” WINS

Anglers Quest 2010 Sam Rayburn Individual Series #9 out of Mill Creek Park in Brookeland, TX began this event with 12 anglers showing up to fish for the $1620.00 purse. After the playing of the National Anthem this 9th Individual Series event was started at 6:30 am. The anglers had to be in line to weigh by 3:15 pm. This Rayburn Individual Series after all 9 events will provide Ricky Guy the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Rayburn Individual Series events. Mr Rick Barns put up a good battle all year but come up short for the angler of the year by 2.28 lbs in the last T of the year.

FLASH All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The anglers entering a minimum of 4 Rayburn Individual series events will automatically qualify for the 1-day Sam Rayburn Individual series Championship on October 10. Any angler making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also be eligible for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine in November.

Sam Rayburn water was in good shape and about 6 ft below normal pool level with water temps ranning 82-84 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very nice 74 degrees with a warming to 92 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was pretty good on Big Sam today as there were 4 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 30 bass at 81.15 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.70 lb.

Chris McCall & his dog Buddy from Jasper, Tx ran his Ranger/Rude bass rig to Main mid lake points around brush piles to catch his bass throwing Tx rigged 10” Gambler worms in 18′-20′ water. Some of his bass came on a c-rig Gambler Super Stud. Chris is using unnamed rods with ABU Garcia reels, spooled with 20lb 100% Berkley fluro line. Chris & Buddy managed to boat 10-12 keepers to finish in 1st place with 17.22 lbs. Chris also had the Big Bass of the day at 6.25 lbs and collected $1000.00 for his day on the water. Chris wanted to Thank Ranger, Evinrude, Santone Lures, Gambler Lures, Abu Garcia, Berkley & Buddy for their support.

Albert Collins from Nacogdoches, Tx ran his Champion/Mercury bass rig to areas north of the 147 bridge with brush to finish in 2nd with his best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 17.27 lbs BUT… 1 of Albert’s bass was dead and it was a very costly dead bass as Albert collected 2nd place with the corrected weight of 17.02 lbs. Albert collected $450.00 for his day on the water.

Alan Moore from Lufkin, Tx ran his Ranger/Rude bass rig to Main mid lake points around grass to catch his bass throwing Tx rigged worms in 6′-8′ water. Alan managed to catch 5 keepers to finish in 3rd place with 14.73 lbs. Alan collected $110.00 for his day on the water. Alan wanted to thank Terry’s Marine & Tri Lake Tackle for their support.

Ricky Guy was the 1st place out of the money with 5 bass at 9.48 lbs and received the gift certificates. Ricky passed off the Santone Lures & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates to Gary Miettinen for his catch of 2 bass at 4.05 lbs.The entire results from this and all A/Q events put on by Anglers Quest can be viewed at the Anglers Quest website.
