Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #15 on Lake Livingston out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 48 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1775.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 6:15 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler and will pay the winning team $10,000.00. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Livingston water was about normal pool level with water temps running 82-86 degrees. The weather at takeoff was 76 degrees with a warming to 96 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was really good on Livingston as there were 10 limits brought to the scales, a total of 79 bass at 177.42 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.24 lb.

The husband and wife team of Chuck & Mary Perkins from Onalaska, Tx ran their BassCat/Mercury bass boat to mid-lake creek areas to catch their bass flipping Tx rigged worms to seinie beans and shoreline reeds in 1-4 ft of water. The day found them catching only 5 bass between noon and 2:30 to bring in 14.71 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $635.00. One of the Perkins bass was the big bass of the event, a fine 4.91 lber to get them another check for $145.00 to give them a $780.00 payday for their efforts.

Larry Cotten & Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran Larry’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to south lake creek areas to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass, caught on Tx rigged baby brush hogs & small crank baits that tipped the scales at 12.64 lbs. Larry & Chris collected $400.00 for their day on the water.

Greg Crawford from Huffman & Sammy Smith from Crosby, Tx ran Greg’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to various creek areas north of the 190 bridge fishing Texas rigged soft plastics in 1-6 ft of water and finished in 3rd place with a total of 5 bass that tipped the scales at 12.48 lbs. Their efforts payed them $300.00.

Forrest Wilkinson from Livingston & James Conant from Spring, Tx came to the scales today with 5 bass at 12.34 lbs to garner 4th place and collect $200.00 for their efforts.

Wesley Revis from Groveton, Tx caught the 2nd big bass of the day, a fine 3.66 lber to give him a cool $95.00 for that one bite.

Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston on Tuesday, August 7 and at Inland Marine on Wednesday August 8 at Lake Conroe for the 19th of 23 Tuesday & Wednesday Series events. On August 18 Anglers Quest will be on Lake Houston for the 16th of 20 Saturday Series events.
