With a $3,700 payout for just 8 teams, Day 1, Everyone brought a limit to the scales……..There were 40 total fish, weighing 132.48 lbs. Day 2 there were only 4 limits, with 28 total fish weighing 86.78 lbs.
The Team of Tommy Hill and Bubba Frazier led day 1 with an awesome sack weighing 23.77 lbs. And on day 2 they came in with 16.76 lbs., for a two day total weight of 40.53 lbs. Just short of winning. They won $720.00.
Cory Rambo & Rusty Clark our 7 time winners of Anglers of the Year were in second place on Day 1, but came back strong on Day 2 with 26.97 lbs., including a 8.39 lb kicker fish. And that was enough to take the win and $2,550.00…..Their sponsors include : SEI, 6thSense, Granger Chevrolet, Stout Home Builders, Lanmark Staffing, Simon Outfitters, Ranger Boats, Falcon Rods, Minnkota, Premier Yamaha, Sunline, Costa Bass Fishing, Lews Reels and a special Thank you to Mrs. Jimmie Clark and Mrs. Aleena Rambo for which without their support Cory & Rusty would not be the fishermen they are today…….
Third place was held by the Team of Kurt Rhodes & Newell Rhodes. They had solid limits both days with a two day total of 30.85 lbs. they won the 2nd place side pot money of $270.00.
Charles Ford and Justin Cochran came in fourth with a two day total of 28.98 lbs. and won the Rayburn Country Stay & Play Gift Certificate compliments of Rayburn Country Resort.
Tommy Shugart & Bryan Brown caught the second biggest bass of the tournament on Day 1. It weighed 5.86 lbs., and they won $160.00 for that one bite.
Kevin West & Jayden Parrish came in 6th place with a two day total of 18.76 lbs…I just can’t say enough about this team. First of all thank you to Kevin West for having the patience and taking the time to teach a young man the love of Bass Fishing. Second, I have never seen the passion for this awesome sport in any other fisherman than what I see in Jayden Parrish. This young man just turned 13 years old on September 3rd and has the fire that it takes to become a force to be reckoned with. He is polite and respectful and humble and has the hunger to learn …. Mark my words ya’ll …. You will be seeing more and more of this young man in the coming years…
