COLLUM WINS CLASSIC

Day 1…. Lake Freeman — Fourteen anglers gathered at Dodge Camp on Lake Freeman for the 2010 Tippecanoe Valley Anglers classic. This time of year, Freeman has a reputation for tough fishing and low weights. Today would be no exception.

Congratulations to Jeff Vandergraff of Monon. In. on day 1 with 3 fish weighing 4.53. In second was Kyle Need of Monticello, In. with 3 fish weighing 3.67. In third was John Collum, of Schererville, In. with 2 fish weighing 3.46. In fourth was Fuzzy Dunn, of Crown Point, In. with 2 fish weighing 2.62. In fifth was Fred Coleman of Monticello, In. with 1 fish weighing 1.38.

The TVA banquet and awards ceremony was held at Sublettes ribs in Monticello, In. After a fine meal awards were handed out to anglers of the year.

Congratulations to Fuzzy Dunn, of Crown Point, In. on winning the coveted Angler of the Year. In second was Kevin Hysong of Lafayette, In. In third was Jeff Vandergraff, of Monon, In.

Day 2….Lake Shafer, Monticello, In. With cool weather and clear skies 14 anglers headed off. Lake Shafer is considered to be the better lake in this two day event, and for some it was. Congratulations to John Collum of Schererville, In. with 4 fish weighing 7.39. This put Johns total for two days at 10.84, Giving him the win. In second was Fuzzy Dunn, of Crown Point, In. with 4 fish on day 2 weighing, 7.08. This gave him a two day total of 9.70. In third was Dave Coffing, of Romney, In. Dave redeemed himself after a tough day one with a 5 fish limit weighing 9.58. In fourth was Bill Kelly, of Monticello, In. with 4 fish weighing 6.26. In fifth was Kyle Need, of Monticello, In. with 1 fish on day two weighing 1.43. This gave him a two day total of 5.10.
