Cunningham Wins Bass Fishing League Lake Texoma Regional Championship

WHAT: Boater Richard Cunningham of Ragley, La., caught nine bass weighing 25 pounds, 5 ounces during the three day tournament which was held Oct. 14-16 to win a Chevy truck and Ranger boat in the BFL Lake Texoma Regional Championship. The victory earned Cunningham a trip to the BFL All-American. On the final day he was fishing near docks and around rocks and tires in 6 to 10 feet of water using crankbaits and big minnows colored in blue and chartreuse to seal his victory.

WHO: The top six anglers also qualified for the BFL All-American and are:

3rd: Mitchell Webb Skiatook, Okla. nine bass 22-4 $1,100
4th: Shonn Goodwin Moore, Okla. nine bass 21-13 $1,000
5th: Rusty Edwards Bowie, Texas 10 bass 21-12 $900
6th: Bryce Smith Cave Springs, Ark. seven bass 19-10 $800

The remaining top 10 are:

7th: Lon Aylsworth Wildwood, Mo. six bass 18-9 $700
8th: Kevin Treece Fort Smith, Ark. seven bass 18-8 $650
9th: Lendell Martin Jr. Nacogdoches, Texas nine bass 18-7 $600
10th: Everett Eaton Monkey Island, Okla. eight bass 17-15 $550

WHAT: Justin Phillips of Checotah, Okla., caught a total of eight bass weighing 16 pounds, 15 ounces Oct. 14-16 to win a Ranger boat along with a trip to the BFL All-American in the Co-angler Division. On the final day Phillips was fishing mid-lake around rocks using a small PB&J colored jig to grab the victory.

4th: Kevin Crady Desoto, Mo. four bass 13-3 $500

6th: Mike Hutchings Eagletown, Okla. seven bass 11-4 $400

7th: Gary Smith South West City, Mo. four bass 11-4 $350
8th: John Semken Henderson, Texas six bass 11 $325
9th: Keeton Blaylock Benton, Ark. three bass 10-13 $300
10th: Justin Tye Westville, Okla. five bass 10-11 $275
