Michael Iaconelli, Team Yamaha Pro from Runnymede, NY. The first tip Iâd like to give would deal with jig fishing, which is one of my favorite techniques. The size of jig is very important. I use a Man Stone jig and I alternate between four sizes. I think one of the biggest things in jig fishing is to use the size of the jig head to match the conditions of your fishing.
For example, if Iâm skip pitching under docks, Iâll go to a 1/4 ounce or a 3/8 ounce stone jig, which will let me skip, itâll give me that light presentation I need with a spinning rod or a conventional to let that bait flow under the dock. In other situations, when Iâm flipping heavy matted vegetation or cover, I want to go to a 1/2 ounce or 3/4 ounce stone jig. One of the biggest tips you can learn in jig fishing is to use every size to your advantage. Use every size 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 to the conditions that you are fishing in.By: Walker Agency
