Darrell Lowrance recently announced his retirement after 50 years in the marine electronics business. He founded Lowrance Electronics, Inc., one of the leaders of marine electronics for the recreational market. He sold the company to Simrad Yachting in early 2006. Lowrance was then incorporated into the Navico Group, based in Sweden. He will remain a member of Navico’s Board of Directors.
Lowrance has been an active member of ASA for many years. His current seat on ASA’s Board expires in October. ASA thanks Darrell for his many years of commitment to the association and to the sportfishing industry.
