Anglers Quest 2010 Houston Weekend Team Series #6 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 40 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $2750.00 purse. This event got started at 5:55 am after the playing of the National Anthem. The weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Houston Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2011 Houston Weekend Team Series events.

FLASH … All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The teams entering all 9 or any team entering the last 5 (May-Sept) Weekend Team or the last 4 Individual series events will automatically qualify for all 4 Series Championships. Top 25 in pounds from any Weekend Team with 5 events entered or 4 Individual Series with a minimum of 4 events entered will also qualify for championship. If you qualify for any A/Q Championship you will also qualify to go to the 2-day ?Tournament of Champions? on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine.

Lake Houston water was in good shape and at about normal pool level with water temps ranning 83-89 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very warm 78 degrees with a warming to 96 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was good on Lake Mud today as there were 9 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 66 bass at 141.49 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.14 lb.

The team of David Wheaton from Huffman & Tansley Bynog Sr from Porter, Tx ran David’s Gambler/Mercury bass rig north to Luces Bayou brush to catch their bass flipping tx craw worms in 2-6 ft of water. They managed to catch 10-12 keepers to finish in 1st place with the best 5 that tipped the scales at 13.59 lbs. They also had the Big Bass of the event, a fine 4.51 lber that all total made them $1300.00 for their day on the water. They did own one of the Bass Guard culling systems that paid them an additional $50.00 for their Win & BB.

The team of Dean Coleman & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, Tx ran Dean’s Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to north & south lake areas to probe shallow brush with their Kistler & G-Loomis rods with Shimano reels to catch their bass flipping tx rigged worms in 2-6 ft of water. They managed to catch 8-9 keepers to finish in 2nd place with the best 5 that tipped the scales at 12.87 lbs. Their day on the water paid them $700.00.

The team of Tony Hawk from Huffman, Tx & Jeremy Murray from Porter, Tx ran Tony’s Ranger/Mercury bass rig to south main lake docks & piers with brush to finish in 3rd with their best 5 bass, caught on American Rodsmiths rods & Shimano reels tipped with a variety of lures that weighed in at 12.29 lbs. Jeremy reported catching 10 keepers throughout the day. Their day on the lake payed back $450.00 for their efforts.

The team of Russell Traylor from Huffman, Tx & Bryan Stevens from Crosby, Tx ran Russell’s Blazer/Yamaha bass rig to south main lake docks & piers to finish in a tie for 4th with their best 5 bass, caught on American Rodsmiths rods & Quantum reels tipped with a variety of lures that weighed in at 12.29 lbs. Russell reported catching 12 keepers throughout the day. Their day on the lake payed back $100.00 for their efforts.

The team of Danny StAndrie from Huffman, Tx & John Littleton from Humble, Tx ran their bass rig to north & south lake creek areas to finish in a 4th place tie with their best 5 bass, caught on tx rigged worms that tipped the scales at 12.29 lbs. They reported catching 10-12 keepers throughout the day. Their day on the lake payed back $100.00 for their efforts.

The team of Greg Crawford from Huffman, Tx & Tim Patterson from Kingwood, Tx would have received the 1st place out of the money Santone & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates if they had been present at the awards ceremony. The certificates were awarded to 9th place finishers Bobby Behrend & Jim Arnold with 5 bass at 9.26 lbs. The Lake Houston Tuesday Series started on March 30th and will continue for 23 weeks until August 31st at 6:00-9:15 pm at Lake Houston Marina. The Wednesday Conroe Series started on March 31st and will continue for 23 weeks until September 1st at 6:00-9:15 pm at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe. Both of these series will have their own home lake championships in October.

Anglers Quest will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn July 3rd & 4th for the 7th of 9 Rayburn Weekend Team Series & Individual Series events. On July 10th & 11th A/Q will be at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston for the 7th of 9 Weekend Team & Individual Series events. We will be at Lake Conroe at El Dorado Jack’s on July 17th & 18th for the Individual Series on Saturday & the Team Series on Sunday. A/Q will be back at Lake Houston July 24th & 25th for the 7th of 9 Houston Weekend Team Series & Individual Series events.
