Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #4 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 24 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $890.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 6:35 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the Guaranteed $10,000.00 to the winning team “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Houston water was a bit off color and about normal pool level with water temps running 57-58 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 38 degrees with a warming to 64 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing is still very poor on Houston as there were only 2 limits brought to the scales, a total of 22 bass at 56.14 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.55 lb.

The team of David Wheaton from Crosby & Tansley Bynog Sr from Porter, Tx ran David’s DynaTrac/Mercury bass rig to West Fork creek areas to catch their bass dragging C-rigged worms & lizards in 6-8 ft of water. They only caught 4 bass at 13.84 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $550.00, but 1 of their bass was the Big Bass of the event, a fine 5.24 lber that paid them an additional $75.00 for their day on the lake.

Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran his Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to various areas all over the lake to finish in 2nd with his best 5 bass, caught on Tx rigged plastics that tipped the scales at 13.24 lbs. Chris’s day on the lake payed back $220.00 for his efforts.

Tommy Brooks & Lance Lyles from Houston, Tx finished in 3rd place with a limit of bass that tipped the scales at 10.76 lbs. Terry Lindsey & Dennis Wells had the 2nd Big Bass at 3.85 lbs to collect $45.00.
