The river had been high and muddy for the tournament prior to the start of the event, but my how things have changed. The river is now pretty shallow and at times difficult to navigate. When the conditions get like this, along with the current slowing down, it means one thing…..a good number of fish are going to be caught and weighed in.
Sunday was no exception with 14 of 15 teams weighing in fish. The team of Jeff Denton and Chris Schultz won their second event by bringing a limit of bass to the scales weighing 8.21 pounds.
Finishing in second place was the team of Lloyd Marcum and Craig Delong. Their 5 fish limit weighed 7.53 pounds.
In third, Mark Noell and his partner weighed in 4 fish that tipped the scales to 6.34 pounds.
Rounding out the top five was the team of Dave and Ron Call weighing a limit of bass good for 5.93 pounds. In fifth place was the team of Andy Mills and Mike Mak with 4 fish weighing 5.92 pounds. The tournament’s big bass was caught by Kevin Rainford with a largemouth weighing 3.60 pounds.
The next tournament will be on August 22nd. This will be the last tournament of the regular season to decide the Angler of the year standings.
