The third tournament for Arkansas’s Super Team was clear sunny with highs in the 70’s. With water temps 50’s 63 teams managed to catch 222 bass weighing 356.15 lbs with 28/5 fish limits with 56 teams weighing fish.
The team of Thomas Duncan and Rickey Bailey bested the field with 11.46 lbs. earning them $5000. they used Chartruse pepper baby brush hogs to bag their limit with a 5.79 lb big bass, but they did not get in the big bass pot and missed out on another $730.
Second place was the team of Ron Roberson and Dennis Hiett with 10.80 lbs. also using Carolina Rigged Brush hogs. With their second big bass of 3.48 lbs they earned a total of $1580.
Third was a tie of 10.06 lbs. earning Mark and Steve Stewart and Mel and Gen Davis $787.50. The Stewarts were using Carolina rigged centepides and the Davis’ were using a spinner bait.
Lunker was a 3.62 lb bass caught by Lester Craig and Aubrey Johnson to earn them $730.
The next Arkansas Super Team tournament will be May 8 on Arkansas River at Peneliton bridge in Dumas, Arkansas.
