Anglers Quest 2010 Sam Rayburn Individual Series #7 out of Mill Creek Park in Brookeland, TX began this event with 8 anglers showing up to fish for the $1080.00 purse. After the playing of the National Anthem this 7th Individual Series event was started at 5:55 am. The anglers had to be in line to weigh by 3:15 pm. This Rayburn Individual Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Rayburn Individual Series events.
FLASH All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The Top 25 anglers entering a minimum of 5 Rayburn Weekend Team series events will automatically qualify for the 1-day Sam Rayburn Weekend Team Championship in October. Any angler making the cut to any A/Q Championship will also be eligible for the “Tournament of Champions” at Lake Palestine in November.
Sam Rayburn water was in good shape and about 1 1/2 ft below normal pool level with water temps ranning 80-83 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very calm 74 degrees with a warming to 96 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was pretty good on Big Sam today as there were 3 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 22 bass at 44.03 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.00 lb.
Erik Peveto from Buna, Tx ran his Champion/Yamaha bass rig to Main lake points around grass to catch his bass throwing Tx rigged worms in 6′-12′ water. Erik managed to catch 5 keepers to finish in 1st place with 11.08 lbs. Erik collected $800.00 for his day on the water.
Lance Duff from Liberty, Tx ran his BassCat/Mercury bass rig to south lake areas with scattered grass to finish in 2nd with his best 5 bass, caught using a variety of different baits in shallow water around grass & bushes that tipped the scales at 9.86 lbs. Lance collected $160.00 for his day on the water.
Tommy Hill actually was the 1st place out of the money with 5 bass at 9.66 lbs and would have received the gift certificates if he had been present at the awards ceremony. The Santone Lures & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates were given to Lance Duff for his catch of 5 bass at 9.86 lbs.
