Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #7 on Lake Livingston out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 28 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1040.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 6:35 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler and will pay the winning team $10,000.00. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Livingston water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps running 65-70 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a windy 43 degrees with a warming? to 45 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching is still a bit slow on Livingston as there were only 2 limits brought to the scales, a total of 33 bass at 76.15 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.30 lb.

The Father & Son team of Frank & Jody Rhoden from Groveton, Tx ran Jody’s Champion/E-Tech bass boat to Kickapoo creek areas to catch their bass flipping Tx rigged lizards & jigs to scattered junk in 1-3 ft of water. Their day didn’t start off well, as their trolling motor batteries went dead at about 10 am. They came in Kickapoo Bait & Tackle and purchased a new set of batteries and went back fishing and caught 5 bass at 11.96 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $500.00.

Larry Cotton & Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran Chris’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to various creek areas to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass, caught on tx rigged lizards & spinner baits that tipped the scales at 11.36 lbs. Larry & Chris’s day on the lake payed back $300.00 for their efforts.

Greg Crawford from Huffman, Tx ran his Champion/Mercury to various creek areas north of the 190 bridge fishing tx rigged soft plastics in 1-3 ft of water and finished in 3rd place and had a total of 4 bass @ 10.19 lbs. Greg took home $100.00 for his day on the water.

Bobby Behrend from Baytown & our Realtor/Sponsor Judy Brandt from Liberty, Tx finished in 4th place with 3 bass caught on TX rigged lizards in 1-3 ft of water. Their 3 bass tipped the scales at 9.48 lbs. One of Judy’s catches of the day was the Big Bass of the event at 5.31 lbs.

Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston on Tuesday, April 10th and at Inland Marine on Wednesday April 11th at Lake Conroe for the 2nd of 23 Tuesday & Wednesday Series events. On April 21st Anglers Quest will be on Lake Houston for the 8th of 20 Saturday Series events. We will be back at Sam Rayburn on April 29th for the 4th of 5 Super Team events.
