FENWICK TO SELECT UP TO 20 TOP COLLEGIATE ANGLERS FOR REWARD PROGRAM

Earn Your Wings” program in fourth year

It isn’t easy being a collegiate angler. With rising cost of tackle and tuition, going after sponsors is a nearly impossible task. Fenwick developed the “Earn Your Wings” program four years ago to help collegiate anglers fish with a little less financial stress. By selecting student anglers, Fenwick continues to develop the collegiate angler. Earn Your Wings applications opened June 6, 2015 and will remain open until September 28, 2015.

Not only will lucky anglers receive product and apparel, three anglers selected will have an opportunity to acquire one, eight-week paid internship with the famed company in Columbia, S.C.

“The Fenwick ‘Earn Your Wings’ program has also been a great opportunity to help young anglers live their dreams,” said Zach Turner, Fenwick marketing coordinator. “Fenwick is committed to develop young anglers and give them the opportunity to look beyond the pond.”

The 2015 winner, Wade Brown from the University of Louisville, was quoted as saying “Winning the Fenwick Earn Your Wings internship has been one of the best thing to happen to me since being involved in collegiate fishing. During the eight weeks I spent in Columbia, SC, I was given a behind the scenes look at how some of the most successful brands in the fishing industry work. The internship provided me invaluable industry insight that will help me as I continue pursuing my school and career plans.”

To apply, potential Fenwick team members must submit photos, videos and applications to be part of the Fenwick Elite Team.  After a detailed selection process, the Fenwick Collegiate team will be formed.  The application is located on the Fenwick website (http://www.fenwickfishing.com/Fenwick-earn-your-wings.html).

Throughout the year, each Fenwick angler will provide photo and video content that will later be used to influence others to participate in the sport of fishing.

The paid internship will consist of marketing duties as well as product development for the brand. This one lucky angler, turned intern, will also have a heavy presence developing material for digital outlets for Fenwick.
