Fishers Of Men National Tournament Trail To Invade Charleston, WV For The 2010 East Regional Championship Bass Tournament

The Fishers Of Men National Tournament Trail is pleased to announce that the second event of the 2010 FOM Regional Championship Series will be will be held on the Kanawha River, in Charleston, WV. Competitors will blastoff each day out of Frontier Lot (formerly called Verizon Park). Daniel Boone Park will also be utilized as a secondary launch site.

250 competitors, including many family members, will begin to arrive October 10 in order to get ready for the 3-days of practice, in their quest to earn a share of the total purse of nearly $37,000.00 in cash and prizes.

The 7:00pm Thursday night pre-tournament meeting will be held in the Charleston Civic Center (North Hall), 200 Civic Center Drive, Charleston, WV 25301, with registration beginning at 5:15 and the meal at 6:00. The featured speaker will be Chris Wells, of Wellspokenministries and the Chaplain for the BASS Elite Series Pros.

With the off-limits in effect from Oct. 5 through Oct.11, teams will begin three days of practice on October 12. The official days of tournament competition are October 15 & 16, culminating in a substantial payout to the top finishers. The first place team will earn a new Triton TR-18 Explorer, powered by the venerable Mercury 150 hp Optimax. These two manufacturers are among the top leaders in the boating industry.

Tournament anglers will blast off from the launch site at Frontier Lot (formerly called Verizon Park) 1500 Maccorkle Ave Se, Charleston, WV, at safe light each day, and the daily weigh-ins will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday and Saturday at downtown, Haddad Riverfront Park. We encourage the public attend.

To earn a spot to the East Regional Championship, anglers from divisions in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia had to battle their way to the top of their respective divisions through five qualifying events by earning points. Points are awarded to the competitors according to how they place in the tournaments. Anglers also are awarded 50 extra points for attending the Friday-night meetings.

The top ten finishers, by weight, in this event, along with the highest finisher from each division, all “Division Points Champions”, plus the top male/ female and adult/junior teams will earn a berth to the 2011 FOM National Championship, to be held April 7, 8, & 9, 2011, on Guntersville Lake, Alabama where they will compete for nearly $100,000.00 in cash and prizes.
