FishPAA Television debuts Oct. 2 on VERSUS

Thirteen original episodes of “FishPAA Television” will begin airing Saturday, Oct. 2, on VERSUS and highlight the 2010 PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix.

Starting with an introductory episode about the Professional Anglers Association, the 30-minute shows will air weekly at 7 a.m. EST each Saturday and 4 a.m. each Friday from October through December. Tournament coverage will begin Oct. 9 with Day 1 of the season-opening event at Cherokee Lake in Morristown, Tenn., followed each Saturday with highlights from each tournament day of the four-event season.

“FishPAA Television will take viewers through the PAA Tournament Series season from start to finish,” said Danny Blandford, PAA Program Director. “From the opening launch at Cherokee Lake in July to the final winning total at Table Rock in October, fishing fans will be able to see the best bass fishing pros in the nation on the water in challenging competition.”

Careco Multimedia of San Antonio handles on-site coverage and production of “FishPAA Television.” Careco Multimedia represents VERSUS, Comcast, FOX Sports, ESPN, LoneStar Channel and others with a variety of fishing, hunting and outdoors programming.

Ninety minutes will be devoted to each 2010 PAA Tournament Series event. Three 30-minute shows will air with on-water and weigh-in highlights from each tournament, increasing the coverage provided to anglers and the host communities. VERSUS is broadcast to more than 80 million homes.

“Producing three episodes per event allows us to highlight all the anglers who do well, regardless if they are still in contention on the final day,” Blandford said. “When anglers are looking at the best value in terms of entry fees compared to exposure, there really is no better value for the competitors, or their sponsors, than the PAA. An angler competing in the PAA Tournament Series has 12 good opportunities to receive national exposure and help create a fantastic promotional opportunity for their careers.”

PAA Tournament Series champions this season include Tommy Biffle of Oklahoma on Cherokee Lake in Morristown, Tenn.; Edwin Evers of Oklahoma on Lake Norman in Concord, N.C.; and Keith Combs of Texas on Lake Tawakoni in Garland, Texas.

The final event of the 2010 PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix will be Oct. 14-16 on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Mo.
