FLW Outdoorsโ television show will make its 2004 debut Sunday, Feb. 8 on the Outdoor Life Network with a preview of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour season opener presented by EverStart Batteries. Veteran outdoor programming host Hank Parker will preview the tournament that takes place Jan. 21-24 on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Fla. Parker and the “FLW Outdoors” team will preview every event of the $6.8 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour this season.
Parker will also get the inside story from some top tour anglers to give viewers a unique look at the patterns and techniques the pros are likely to use as they compete for a $100,000 first prize. Parker’s guests will include Team Snickers pro Pat Fisher of Dacula, Ga., and Team Energizer pro J.T. Kenney of Frostburg, Md. The two are past winners of the Lake Okeechobee FLW Tour event: Fisher won last year, and Kenney received the honor in 2002. The pair will show Parker how they prepare to compete in one of Americaโs most storied and challenging fisheries.
The Outdoor Life Network will broadcast “FLW Outdoors” Sundays from 1-2 p.m. EST and again Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. EST. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area.
During each tournament show, FLW Outdoors television hosts Carlton Wing and Taylor Carr will go on location to provide on-the-water coverage. While tournament weigh-ins will broadcast live at Wal-Mart stores throughout the country, “FLW Outdoors” will be tape-delayed by three weeks to bring audiences nationwide the best tournament footage possible throughout the season.
