Fishing Hot Spots, Inc., the nation’s largest publisher
of fishing maps and Garmin Inc., a leading manufacturer of navigation,
communication and information electronics, jointly announce a new CD-ROM giving anglers what it takes to find fish – introducing MapSource(tm) Fishing Hot Spotsยฎ.
Fishing Hot Spotsยฎ maps have been putting people on fish for more than two decades and now GARMIN users will have much of that fishing research in one convenient CD-ROM. The MapSource Fishing Hot Spots CD contains detailed fishing information such as depth contours, shorelines and navigational aids like boat ramps, marinas and campgrounds. Fishing Hot Spots’ legendary fishing tips and techniques are also available.
“This information, downloaded into a GARMIN GPS unit will give the user a live map,” said Mike Michalak, Fishing Hot Spots president.”Planning is the key to fishing success and combining that map with the GARMIN unit gives anglers all the information they need before they hit the water and now, while they’re on it.” Gary Kelley, GARMIN’s director of marketing, agrees.
“By turning on a GARMIN GPS unit, you’ll have instant access to marked
fishing areas, tips, techniques, bottom composition and many more valuable insights that will help make for a successful fishing trip. Even more amazing, the GARMIN GPS unit will tell you where you are in relation to this lake data.”
MapSource Fishing Hot Spots CD-ROM will interface with several of GARMIN’s GPS units, including the GPSMAP 162, GPSMAP 168 Sounder, eMap*, eTrex* Legend and eTrex* Vista. The software is compatible with Windows 95, 98 and NT operating systems.
