Anglers Quest 2013 Lake Houston Saturday #7 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 52 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $4350.00 purse. Any team entering 6 of the 8 Lake Houston Saturday Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Houston Championship. The top team in points after 8 events will be declared the Team Anglers of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Houston Saturday Series events. The teams entering all 8 Houston Saturday series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any team qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the “Tournament of Champions” on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.

This 7th event of 2013 was started at 6:10 am. Lake Houston water was in good shape and at approximately 1 3/4 feet below normal pool level with water temps ranning 87-90 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 74 degrees with a warming to 98 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was slow on Lake Mud today as there were only 5 limits brought to the scales for a total of 53 bass at 120.77 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.27 lb.

The team of Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson from Crawford Technical Services in Huffman, Tx ran Greg’s BassCat/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch their bass throwing tx rigged baits in 1-4 ft of water. They managed to catch and cull from 2 limits of bass to finish with a great sack at 15.98 lbs. This win made them $2000.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx & Kary Essl from Crosby, Tx ran Chris’s new Bowden Marine prepped BassCat/Mercury bass rig to north & south lake creeks to catch their bass throwing TX rigged brush hogs in 1-6 ft of water. They managed to catch many keepers to finish with a sack of 5 bass at 13.66 lbs. This 2nd place finish made them $1000.00 for their day on the water. The one man team of Wayne Miller from Houston, Tx ran his Ranger/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing tx rigged worms in 1-4 ft of water. Wayne managed to catch 7 keepers to finish with a sack of 5 bass at 13.53 lbs. This 3rd place finish made him $650.00 for his day on the water.

The team of Travis Robinson from Kingwood, Tx & Ruben DeLeon from Houston, Tx finished in 4th with their best 4 bass caught with tx rigged worms & spinner baits in 1-3 ft water in the East Fork and Luces Bayou that tipped the scales at 9.95 lbs. They collected $300.00 for their efforts.

The one man team of Bill Harlan from Crosby, Tx finished in 5th with 5 bass at 9.36 lbs and collected $200.00.

John Littleton & Jerry Wade received the Gift cards from Martel Welding Works & the Fast 5 Baits for their 6th place finish. The 1st place out of the money at all A/Q events this year will receive $50.00 gift cards from Martels Welding Works towards the purchase of a Rhino spray in Bed Liner. You must be present at weigh in to collect the gift cards or they are passed to the next boat. The team of Domonick Poullard from Houston, Tx & Craig Austin from Humble, Tx finished the Big Bass of the event that tipped the scales at 4.09 lbs. They collected $150.00 for their catch.

On August 4th A/Q will be back at Lake Houston for the 8th Houston final Individual event of the year. On July 30th & August 6th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Houston for for the 19th & 20th of 23 Tuesday evening events. Anglers Quest will be back at The Umphrey Pavilion on Sam Rayburn on August 10th & 11th for the 8th and final events of Sam Rayburn Saturday & Individual Series events. On August 13th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Houston for for the 21st of 23 Tuesday evening events. On August 17th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Houston for the 8th & final Houston Saturday Series event. On August 18th A/Q will be at Lake Livingston for the 8th & final Livingston Individual event.

<> Anglers Quest in an effort to increase entries in the Individual Series events on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston has switched the dates of the 1 series event to make the Individual events not fall on the same weekend as the Team events. The 1 remaining Livingston Individual events will be on August 18. The 1 remaining Houston Individual events will be on August 4. We do hope this change does not cause anyone any inconvenience?we are trying to make these 2 series better for you and A/Q.
