Anglers Quest 2005 Twin Lake Saturday Series #5 on Lake Livingston out of KickApoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 48 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the GUARANTEED $1000.00 to the winner. The event began at safe light, which was 6:15 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm.

The Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2006 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in November on Lake Livingston. A special Top 5 group of teams will go to the all-new “Tournament of Champions” also to be held in November on Martin Creek Reservoir. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team. Lake Livingston water was a bit off color and about 1 ft above normal pool level due to the recent rains, with water temps running 58-62 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 60 degrees with a warming to 72 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was a little slow on Livingston today as only 5 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 63 bass at 167.43 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.65 lb.

Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson from Huffman, Tx ran Greg’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to north lake creek areas to cull to their limit of 5 bass flipping jig & craw worms to 6″ to 2 ft reeds & buck brush to end up with a very nice bag of bass at 16.42 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the GUARANTEED $1000.00. Greg & Jesse reported catching over 3 limits of keeper bass today.

Chris DiBerardino & Danny StAndrie from Huffman, Tx ran Chris’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to mid lake creeks to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 14.67 lbs which made them $300.00 for their day on the water fishing.

Trae Luedke from Montgomery, Tx finished in 3rd place today fishing the south main lake area out of his ProCraft/Yamaha and brought 4 bass to the scales that weighed 13.83 lbs, all caught on tube jigs and spinner baits, Trae also had the Big Bass of the day, a fine 5.98 lber. Trae took home $343.00 for his day on the water.

Archie Smith & Jody Rhoden finished in the 1st out of the money spot with 5 bass that tipped the scales at 13.03 lbs. Archie & Jody graciously accepted the 2 gift certificates given to them from Kickapoo Bait & Tackle.
