Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson Win A/Q Super Team #2

Anglers Quest 2005 Super Team Series #2 blasted off at 6:50 am on Lake Livingston from numerous ramps all over the lake, due to Anglers Quest returning to trailering events. There were 36 anglers who showed up to go for the all cash purse of $2016.00. This Series will provide the Super Team “Anglers of the Year” with free entries to all 2006 Super Team Series events. The Super Team Series Championship to be held on August 27-28 will be held 2 days on Lake Livingston and will take the Top 25 teams to a very exciting Championship. The Top 5 Super Team qualifiers will be invited to attend the new “Tournament of Champions” to be held on Martin Creek Reservoir in November and pay the winner a minimum Guaranteed $5000.00 cash. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for.

The air temp at take-off was at 59 degrees with a warming to 69 degrees at weigh-in time. The water was approx. 1 ft above normal pool level with water temps running approximately 59 in the main lake. The wind also blew with a 10-15 mph SE breeze. The recent bite on Lake Livingston has been extremely slow and tough, but changed for most of the anglers today as some reported catching 3-4 limits of keeper bass. Most Lake Livingston bass were falling prey to slow rolled spinner baits and jigs flipped into the bushes.

Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson from Huffman, Tx powered Greg’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to a north river area to catch his 5 bass of 20.67 lbs on white/silver spinner baits. Greg & Jesse reported culling fish with this pattern all day from about 30 fish. One of there bass was the Big Bass of the event, a fine 6.00 lber to anchor there win and collect $1130.00 and the A/Q Trophies for their efforts.

2nd place went to Albert Orgeron, Jr from Onalaska, Tx and Ben Cockrell from Livingston, Tx. They reported running their Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to mid lake areas to catch 5 bass at 18.86 lbs fishing TX rigged plastics in knee deep water to collect $600.00 and the A/Q plaques for their efforts. Chris DiBerardino & Keith Fields from Huffman, Tx finished in 3rd with 5 bass at 18.34 lbs. They reported catching over 3 limits of bass casting char/white spinner baits in the mid lake area to shoreline cover. Chris And Keto collected $286.00 and the A/Q plaques for their day on the water. Keto reported catching the 2nd Big Bass of the event early in the day, a fine 5.71 lber.

The next Super Team event is scheduled for March 13 on Lake Conroe and will be headquartered out of Anchorge Marina, enter there at any time 936-856-6423.

Anglers Quest will be on Lake Houston on February 19 for the 4th of 20 GUARANTEED $1000.00 to Win Saturday Series events. Anglers Quest will be on Lake Livingston on February 27 for the 2nd of 7 ProAm Series events.
