Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson Win A/Q Super Team #6

Anglers Quest 2006 Super Team Series #6 blasted off at 6:00 am on Lake Livingston with 44 teamed anglers showing up to go for the all cash purse of $2630.00. This Series will provide “Team Anglers of the Year” with free entries to all 2007 Super Team Series events. The Super Team Series Championship and “Tournament of Champions” will be held on Lake Tyler and will take the Top 10 Teams and every team that entered all 7 Super Team events to a very exciting $10,000 to the winner Championship. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to compete for.

The air temp at take-off was 76 degrees with a warming to 90 degrees at weigh in time. The water was at 3 ft below normal pool level with water temps running in the low 80’s in the main lake. The fishing was very good on Livingston today as 11 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 71 bass at 170.15 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.39 lb.

Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson from Huffman, TX ran Greg’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to mid and north lake areas to cull to their limit of 5 bass casting TX rigged worms & crank baits to shallow grass and brush and ended up with 13.98 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the A/Q “Goal Posts” and $1200.00 plus an additional $90.00 for having the 2nd big bass of the day, a fine 4.13 lber. Greg & Jesse put their selves in position to have the chance to overtake the leaders Jeff Jackowski & Kevin Ekdall for the “Anglers of the Year” at the last Super Team event on Lake Houston July 29.

Jeff Stanley & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, TX ran Jeff’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to South lake areas to cull to their limit of 5 bass casting wacky rigged worms & crank baits to very shallow grass and brush around piers and docks and ended up with 13.86 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $600.00 plus an additional $130.00 for having the 1st big bass of the day, a fine 4.88 lber.

Chris Wallace from Coldspring, TX and O E Ellisor from New Waverly, TX ran Chris’s Stratos/Johnson to the south end of the lake for the first half of the day and to the north end of the lake for the remainder of their fishing time flipping TX rigged worms and throwing small cranks to catch their best 5 bass to bring to the scales at 3:15 to capture 3rd place and $400.00.

Rodney Ward from Trinity, TX and Tommy Fredregill from Huntsville came to Lake Livingston and powered their bass rig to Kickapoo creek areas with brush to catch and cull to their best 5 bass of 12.71 lbs to garner 4th place and $210.00 for their day on the water.

Anglers Quest will be back on Lake Livingston on July 1 for the 13th of 20 Saturday Series events. Anglers Quest will be back on Lake Livingston on July 8 for the 8th of 12 Big Bass Bash events, enter anytime at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle.
