It was almost right

Predictions were for numerous fifteen pound stringers and twenty pounds or more to win. Well, the fish moved up, but were not cooperating for the tournament. You could see fish moving on the banks, but getting them tobite was another matter.

David “in the money” Williams had a small limit early, but knew it would not be enough to win. He made a move to the Lake Leary spawning flats and found the fish moving on to the beds and some of them were willing to cooperate. He was able to cull his small fish and upgrade to 14.45 lbs. for the win. David moves into second place for the angler of the year title with his win.

The marsh master continues his run with a second place finish of 14.05 lbs of fish. Ben Hollingsworth burned about two gallons of gas to bring in his stringer. He was able to get a six pound plus sow to pick up his plastic from the bed and managed to stick her. She b alled up in a mat of grass and as he reached for the tail that stuck up out of the grass she just swam away. That fish would have been worth over $600! Don’t feel too sorry for Ben though, he has taken about $1,300 from us in two tournaments and is still in the angler of the year spot.

Third place went to Delacroix expert Mike Bock with a nice 13.70 lb sack.

River fisherman Ricky Kennedy made another strong finish with 13.35 lbs and will be in good position for the river leg of the circuit if he has another good Delacroix tournament.

Bob Hoover brought in a 12.75 lbs stringer for the fifth place spot.

Sixth was a new angler to our circuit from Bayou Bassmasters, Kayo Fraychineaud wug 12,60 lbs.

It Was Tough for Delacroix again! The big bass and heavy stringer pots are probably safe for another tournament since the fishing was so tough.

The Next One!
The next one is also at the Delacroix Corp. launch. It will be May 7th.
