Anglers Quest 2010 Livingston Weekend Team Series #9 out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 44 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $2965.00 purse.

The event began at safe light, which was 6:40 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Livingston Weekend Team Series after all 9 events came down to a very tight battle for the “Anglers of the Year” Jimmy Emmons Jr & Jeff Stanley won the battle by .13 lbs over Johnny Clawson Jr & Dalene Felder. Jimmy & Jeff will receive all paid entries in 2011 to the Livingston Team Series.

FLASH — All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The teams entering all 9 or the last 5 events for the Weekend Team or Individual series will automatically qualify for all 4 Series Championships. Top 25 in pounds from any Weekend Team or Individual Series with a minimum of 5 events entered in a team series or 4 events entered in an Individual series will also qualify for the championships. If you qualify for any A/Q Championship you will also qualify to go to the 2-day “Tournament of Champions” on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine.

Lake Livingston water was in good shape and about 1/4 ft below normal pool level with water temps running 82-86 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 78 degrees with a warm up to 91 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was pretty good on Livingston today as there were 15 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 88 bass at 209.26 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.37 lb.

The team of James Hewitt from Devers, Tx & Rodney Martel from Nome, Tx ran James’s Triton/Mercury bass rig to mid lake areas. They finished in 1st with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 17.28 lbs weighed in at noon because of livewell problems and they did not want their bass to die. James & Rodney caught their bass today using their rods tipped with tx rigged worms & crank baits in 4-12 ft water. They also had the Big Bass of the event at 4.91 lbs. James & Rodney’s day on the water netted them $1425.00 for their efforts.?Good Job!!

The team of Jeff Rood from Livingston & Ben Pope from Splendora ran Jeff’s Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to south mid lake areas to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.95 lbs. Their catch today included culling a couple limits of bass using their rods tipped with tx rigged worms & crank baits in 2-6 ft water. They were awarded $725.00 for their efforts.

The team of Joey Martin & David Burns from Livingston, Tx ran David’s Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to Kickapoo creek areas to finish in 3rd with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.04 lbs. They reported getting their bites flipping Santone jigs in 2-8 ft water around piers & brush. Their day on the water payed back $450.00 for their efforts.

The team of Johnny Clawson Jr & Dalene Felder from Onalaska ran their Astro/Mercury bass rig to Kickapoo creek areas to finish in 4th with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 14.42 lbs. They reported getting their bites throwing small cranks & spinner baits in 1-6 ft water around piers & brush. Their day on the water payed back $250.00 for their efforts.

The NEW 2010 Anglers of the Year, Jimmy Emmons Jr & Jeff Stanley collected the 1st place out of the money Gift Certificates from Santone & ZZ Lures for their day on the lake for their 5 bass at 10.99 lbs.

The Livingston series Championships will be on October 2nd for the Team series. Then on October 3rd for the Individual series. The meetings & Calcutta auctions will be done on October 1st & 2nd 7 pm at Buster McNutty’s at 4700 Hwy 190 W. On September 18th & 19th A/Q will be at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe for the 9th & last of 9 Individual & Team Series events. A/Q will be at Lake Houston Marina on September 25th & 26th for the 9th & last of 9 Houston Weekend Team Series & Individual Series events.
