Jim and Brenda Harris Win on Tawakoni

Jim and Brenda Harris is a hard lake to fish anytime, but in the middle of the summer with scorching temperatures it just becomes the “Dead Sea”. However, Mesquite’s Jim and Brenda Harris did not let the lakes reputation bother them and they had a limit of bass. Most of their fish were landed on white spinner bait that they bought at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Plano. They fished the grass beds in the mouth of various coves on the west side of the lake. They received a check for $750.00 for their days work.

Gene and Nedra Pappas of Granbury were second place with 5 fish limit that weighed in at 9.61 lbs. They caught most of their bass on points Carolina rigging EXUDE Poc’it Fry in the Chartreuse Pepper/Red Flake color.

Rounding out the top six couples at Lake Tawakoni were Terry and Bonnie Johnson of Coppell with 8.94lbs.; Tommy & Darlene Childs of Tool with 8.76 lbs.; Craig Merritt and Heather Carson of Rockwall with 8.52 lbs.; Butch and Cindy Scheppler of Mabank with 8.50 lbs.

Big Bass
CAST women dominated the Big Bass pot at Tawakoni. Bonnie Johnson of Coppell brought in the Big Bass of the tournament. It hit the scales at 5.01 lbs. They caught this bass on a EXUDE Super Lizard in Black/Blue tail that they won at the meeting on Saturday afternoon. Second place big bass weighed 4.66 lbs. and Debra Peace of Arlington landed it.

Lake Fork Information
The last C.A.S.T. Northeast region tournament of the 2003 season will be held on Lake Fork. It will be on Sunday July 20. Registration will be from 3-5 pm on Saturday, July 19th, in the store at Axton’s Bass City, Phone Toll-Free 1-877-525-4698 if you need directions.
