Jimmy Emmons, Jr & Jeff Stanley Win A/Q Super Team #3

Anglers Quest 2004 Super Team Series #3 blasted off at 6:15 am on Lake Conroe out of Anchorage Marina with 24 teamed anglers showing up to go for the all cash purse of $1420.00. This Series will provide “Team Anglers of the Year” with free entries to all 2005 Super Team Series events. The Super Team Series Championship will be held on August 13-14-15 and will be held 1 day on each of 3 different lakes and will take the Top 25 Teams to a very exciting Championship. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for. The air temp at take-off was a very pleasant 58 degrees with a warming to 74 degrees at weigh in time. The water was at normal pool level with water temps running in the low 60’s in the main lake. The wind cooperated also with a 5-10 mph SE breeze and a few showers throughout the day.

Jimmy Emmons Jr & Jeff Stanley from Humble, Tx came to Lake Conroe and powered their Champion/Yamaha bass rig to south lake 1-5 ft coves & pockets with brush to catch their 5 bass of 16.89 lbs on spinner baits. They reported catching 1 of their keepers on a Senko to anchor their win and collected $900.00 and the A/Q Trophies for their efforts.

Tony Hawk & Billy Tyler from Humble, Tx ran their Champion/Mercury bass rig to south lake rocks & points and finished in 2nd with 4 bass at 15.21 lbs. Tony reported catching 15 bass on wacky rigged worms but could not find the 5th keeper bass. They collected $400.00 and the A/Q plaques for their efforts.

The team of Chuck McClurkin from Humble and Chris DiBerardino from Crosby, Tx ran their Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to south Adkins Creek and finished in 3rd with 4 bass at 13.03 lbs, one of their bass was the big bass of the event, a fine 6.30 lber. They reported catching their bass on spinner baits over a spawning flat. They collected $120.00 and the A/Q plaques for their day on the water.

The team of Chris Wilkerson & Scott David tipped the scales with their 4 bass at 11.19 lbs to finish in 4th place to collect the A/Q plaques and the first place out of the money 6-pak of Royal Purple TCW3 oil.

Ricky Guy & Larry Cotten finished in the 5th spot with their 3 bass at 9.45 lbs and took home the A/Q Plaques.

The next Super Team event is scheduled for April 18 on Lake Livingston and will go out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle. Registration and entry can be done anytime at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, Tx, phone 936-646-4478.
