The C.A.S.T./North Tournament Trail began it’s 2003 season with cold and windy weather on Lake Amon Carter. Our couples were met with a bite that was as slow as the weather was cold, but no matter the conditions of the weather or the bite the couples of C.A.S.T/North will always manage to catch fish.
John and Debbie Salsman made their C.A.S.T./North debut with an impressive stringer that weighed in at 11.20 Lbs. John and Debbie fished a single hump next to a creek bead for most of the day, throwing lipless crank baits. Their efforts finally paid off about 1:00 P.M. when they netted 3 good fish including a 6.85 black beauty that weighed in as Big Bass of the tournament. The Salsman’s efforts landed them 1st place and Big Bass checks totaling $770.00, not bad for Debbieís first effort at tournament fishing.
Long time C.A.S.T./North members Charles and Shelly Tillison fished the old side of the lake and managed to boat a 4 fish, 8.25 Lb stringer on green crank baits. The Tillison’s took home a $400.00 paycheck for their second place efforts.
Lee and Patty Allen only boated one fish, but that black tipped the scales at 3.70 Lbs for second big bass of the day.
