Landon and Becky Ware “Crank Their Way Through The Docks” For The Win On Lake Livingston

Kickapoo Bait and Tackle on Lake Livingston was the host for the June 5th, 2010 C.A.S.T. Southeast fifth regional tournament of the season. C.A.S.T. Southeast was greeted with very hot temperatures, light winds, and blue bird skies. All teams had to overcome rising water from recent rains prior to the event. There were 35 great teams that fished the event.

Landan and Becky Ware of Jewett, Texas came to the scales with a five fish stringer weighing in at 20.48 pounds. Landan and Becky chose to fish near the weigh-in and utilized boat docks and ditches in Kickapoo Creek areas of Lake Livingston. This team worked jigs and crankbaits around boat docks in 2 ? 6ft. of water. Landan said their was no need to pre-fish due to all the fish that are released in Kickapoo Creek. Congratulations to this team on their WIN!!

Second place goes to the local Onalaska team Johnny Clawson and Dalene Felder of Onalaska, Texas. Johnny and Dalene brought in five healthy bass weighing in at 16.52 pounds. This team was able to capitalize on “BRUSHY CREEK” to put together a shallow spinnerbait pattern early and follow up as the sun got up and work channels in 5ft. of water with a purple binder to finish out the day. Good Job to this team on their second place finish.

Third place goes out to long time C.A.S.T. members Bob and Yoli Narron of Hemphill, Texas who brought in a five fish stringer weighing in at 16.31 pounds. Bob and Yoli chose to fish with watermelon red baby brushhogs in 5 ft. of water to pull in their nice limit. Bob commented during the award ceremony that “Yoli caught all the fish during the day except one of their keepers”. A job well done goes out to this team on their third place finish.

E2baits Big Bass Award goes to the team of Mark and Morna Lane. Mark and Morna who are no strangers to Lake Livingston brought a healthy bass that weighed in at 5.49 pounds. Mark and Morna’s big bass was caught on a chartreuse / white spinnerbait in 2ft. of water. Congratulations on their BIG BASS catch!!!

Big Al’s Texas Rubs Ladies Big Bass Award goes out to Morna Lane who also had the biggest bass of the tournament.
