Anglers Quest 2007 Twin Lake Saturday Series #3 on Lake Livingston out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 32 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1185.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 7:00 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm.

This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2008 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston. A special Top 7 group of teams will qualify to go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler and will pay the winning team $10,000.00. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $100.00 per team.

Lake Livingston water was a bit off color due to the recent rains and about normal pool level with water temps running 45-48 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 25 degrees with a warming? to 51 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was very poor on Livingston today as there were no limits brought to the scales, a total of 13 bass at 39.02 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 3.00 lb.

The team of Larry Cotten & Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran Sammy Smith’s Legend/Evinrude bass rig to the Pennwaugh creek area to catch their bass flipping Tx rigged Brushhogs & 6″ Lizards to docks & piers in 4-8 ft of water. They caught 4 bass @ 13.48 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $720.00, one of their bass was the Big Bass of the event, a fine 5.00 lber. Tim Patterson from Huffman, Tx ran his Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to the Pennwaugh creek area to finish in 2nd with his best 3 bass, caught on Tx rigged brush hogs that tipped the scales at 8.41 lbs. Tim’s day on the lake payed back $275.00 for his efforts. David Wheaton from Crosby & Tansley Bynog Sr from Porter, Tx finished in 3rd place and had the 2nd Big Bass, a 4.50 lber and a total of 2 bass @ 6.86 lbs fishing the state park area. They took home $190.00 for their day on the water.

Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston on Saturday, February 17th for the 4th of 20 Saturday Series events. On February 18th Anglers Quest will be at Sam Rayburn for the 2nd of 5 Super Team events.
