FLW, the world’s premier tournament-fishing organization, announced today that Lowrance, the industry leader in marine electronics, will be the presenting sponsor of the 2014 FLW College Fishing National Championship. The championship event takes place March 6-8 on Lake Keowee in Seneca, S.C.
Per the sponsorship agreement, The Official Lowrance Insight Genesis College Cup has also been named as the official weigh-in bag provider for FLW College Fishing. The branded weigh-in bags will be used by college fishing competitors to bring their fish to the scale at each tournament throughout the 2014 FLW College Fishing season.
The 2014 FLW College Fishing National Championship will be broadcast in high-definition (HD) on NBC Sports Network when “FLW” airs May 31 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. ET. The Emmy-nominated “FLW” television show is hosted by Jason Harper and is broadcast to more than 564 million households worldwide, making it the most widely distributed weekly outdoors-sports television show in the world.
The Lowrance Insight Genesis College Cup, which began in January 2014, is a nationwide competition with free entry for college fishing teams and individuals that will award more than $100,000 in Lowrance product this year. Competitors are rewarded by recording and uploading sonar logs using Lowrance fishfinder/chartplotters to the Insight Genesis website, where monthly and annual totals are measured to determine the winners. For more information, visit the collegecup.lowrance website.
FLW College Fishing is free to enter. All participants must be registered, full-time undergraduate students at a four-year college or university and members of a fishing club recognized by their college or university.
