Making An Unusual Presentation Helps The Pressure

I’m Alton Jones, Yamaha Pro. You know one thing I like to do anytime I’m fishing lakes that get a lot of pressure, is to figure out presentations I can use that maybe the fish aren’t seeing. I like to take some very unconventional type lures, and use them on a Carolina rig. A great example would be, Riverside’s Crawl Bug, and put it on a Carolina rig. Typically, people fish it on a jig head or on a Texas rig, but if you throw that bait on a Carolina rig, it’s amazing the number of strikes you can get. People are so keyed in on Carolina rigs. They use lizards, or they use little fresh fry-type lures. But 10-inch worms, any crawfish imitators, almost any kind of plastic you can throw on any other rig will work great on a Carolina rig. And, you’re giving the bass a different look.
