2016 Season Underway for Popular Bass Fishing Trail
Minn Kota, the world’s leading manufacturer of electric trolling motors, will remain an official sponsor of the Texas Team Trail presented by Cabela’s in 2016. The renewal comes as the Texas Team Trail builds on record participation coming out of the first regular-season event, which featured 352 boats on Sam Rayburn Reservoir.
“We’re excited to build on what’s been a fantastic partnership over the past several seasons,” said Tournament Director Mike Hastings. “The Minn Kota name is synonymous with quality and we’re fortunate to have their support. It’s great to have them back on board for 2016.”
Minn Kota offers a complete line of shallow water anchors, battery chargers, and marine accessories in addition to their well-known trolling motor designs.
Since its founding, Minn Kota has led the way in product innovation and cutting-edge technology. The Minn Kota electric trolling motor began its life in 1934 in Fargo, North Dakota. Mr. O. G. Schmidt, inventor of the trolling motor, was known to be a man of many diverse ideas. Prior to the trolling motor, Mr. Schmidt invented, produced and sold a copper-soldering torch from his home in Wheatland, North Dakota.
Due to its success, manufacturing operations were then moved to Fargo. Because of its proximity to the MINNesota – North DaKOTA border, Mr. Schmidt named the business The Minn Kota Manufacturing Company.
“The Texas Team Trail represents a great opportunity to support our customers in and around the state of Texas,” said Minn Kota Sr. Business Director-Marketing Joe Brown. “We’re excited to partner again in 2016 and look forward to showcasing our products to such a talented group of anglers.”
The Texas Team Trail presented by Cabela’s consists of four regular-season events and a year-end championship. The championship is a two-day tournament open to teams who have fished all four regular-season events.
The Texas Team Trail also includes unprecedented television and media coverage, airing on the Pursuit Channel, Fox Sports Net, NBC Sports, Time Warner Sportsnet and the World Fishing Network.
