Anglers Quest 2010 Livingston Weekend Team Series #5 out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 62 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $4180.00 purse.
The event began at safe light, which was 6:00 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Livingston Weekend Team Series after all 9 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2011 Livingston Weekend Team Series events.
< Lake Livingston water was in decent shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 76-79 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 70 degrees with a warm up to 84 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was really good on Livingston today as there were 24 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 127 bass at 342.73 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.69 lb. The 2009 AOY team of Morgan Burton from Livingston, Tx & Randy McAdams from Cleveland, Tx ran their Ranger/Yamaha bass rig to mid lake creek areas to finish in 1st with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 19.86 lbs. With this great catch today using Tx rigged worms in 3-8 ft water they extended their reach for the Angler of the Year in this Livingston Weekend Team Series to 2nd place. Morgan & Randy’s day on the water paid back $1500.00 for their efforts….Good Job!! The father & son team of Jody & Jake Goodrum from Cleveland, Tx ran their bass rig to creeks south in the main lake to catch 5 keeper bass throwing spinner baits & jigs in 1-3 ft water around shoreline cover. Jody & Jake had an awesome bag of bass that tipped the scales at 18.66 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $800.00 for their day on the water. They also had the Big Bass of the event a fine 6.42 lber to make them an additional $150.00. They also have a 2010 BassCat ordered from Bowden Marine that made them able to collect the BB Bonus of $250.00 giving them a total of $1200.00 for the weekend. The team of Kevin Mason from Point Blank, Tx & Chuck Sewell from Coldspring, Tx ran their bass rig to Palmetto creek areas north of the 190 bridge to catch 5 keeper bass flipping jigs/craw worms in 1-4 ft water around piers with brush. Kevin & Chuck had a nice limit of bass at 16.32 lbs to finish in 3rd place and collect $570.00 for their day on the water. The team of Larry Jenkins & Dale Hill from Livingston ran Larry’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to Kickapoo creek lake areas to catch 5 keeper bass flipping jigs/craw worms in 1-4 ft water around shallow banks with brush. Larry & Dale had a nice limit of bass at 16.01 lbs to finish in 4th place and collect $350.00 for their day on the water. The team of Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, Tx & Jeff Stanley from Houston, Tx ran Jimmy’s Champion/Yamaha bass rig to south lake creek areas to finish in 5th with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.95 lbs. They reported getting their bites flipping wacky worms in 1-5 ft water around piers & brush. Their day on the water payed back $200.00 for their efforts. The team of David Curtis from Trinity, Tx & Mark Mueck from Livingston, Tx ran David’s Ranger/Yamaha to undisclosed creek areas to finish in 6th place with a total of 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.90 lbs and earned $155.00 for their day on the water. Randy Valderez & Joey Rowe would have collected the 1st place out of the money Gift Certificates from Santone & ZZ Lures for their day on the lake for their 5 bass at 15.47 lbs BUT they were not present at the awards presentation. The Gift Certificates were awarded to Kurt & Donnie Luker for their catch of 14.73 lbs. Anglers Quest will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston on Saturday May 22nd & 23rd for the 5th of 9 Houston Weekend Team Series & Individual Series events. On May 29th & 30th A/Q will be at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe for the 5th of 9 Lake Conroe Individual Series & Weekend Team Series events. Then on June 5th & 6th A/Q will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn for the 6th of the Weekend Team & Individual Series events.
