New For 2014: Ranger 212LS Reata

New standard in water sports boats is loaded with tournament-fishing features

Living the boating lifestyle with your family is a great way to spend time together and build lasting memories. Sharing all those moments often means you’ll need to navigate between water sports and fishing. Sometimes, just making the transition from early morning fishing excursions to an afternoon of tubing or an evening pleasure cruise can be a challenge. Enter the all-new Ranger 212LS Reata.

The new 212LS can be described as a luxury water sports rig loaded with tournament-fishing features or a tournament-fishing boat that’s ready for serious water sports competition. Either way, it represents Ranger’s flagship fish ?n’ ski model, which measures 21 feet, 4 inches, is rated for 250 horsepower and has seating for five.

“This boat would be at home in most any fishing situation and could easily handle a day of water sports with the entire family,” said Ranger Boats President Randy Hopper. “It’s extremely comfortable, has more features and delivers more versatility than any other boat in its class. The 212LS is ideal for any family that loves spending time together on the water.”

From a fishing standpoint, the tournament-ready features start with dedicated rod storage forward of the walk-thru windshield with room for 8-foot rods and running rod racks on both the port and starboard sides. The boat is flush with tackle storage areas, both under the spacious front and rear decks, as well as throughout the gunnel. The new 212LS also features a divided, tournament class livewell, Lowrance Mark-5X Pro electronics, Minn Kota trolling motor and two-bank onboard battery charger.

When it comes time to stow the rods, the new 212LS Reata boasts an impressive water sports resume. Plush, custom upholstery lends a luxurious feel throughout the cockpit, while the seats themselves utilize an adjustable bolster to improve sight lines for the driver and passenger. A large, dedicated ski locker is located in the floor of the boat and a factory installed ski tow comes standard. The smooth, dry ride is enhanced by the fluid feel of Sea Star Pro hydraulic steering, giving the driver easy maneuverability to pick up skiers and approach docks and boat slips.

A wealth of additional features, including small storages built into the consoles and gunnels, integrated cup holders and built-in cooler help keep the entire family comfortable. Also standard is a Jensen stereo that also connects to phones and MP3 players via Bluetooth or a USB cable that runs inside the passenger console glove box. When the day on the water is complete, the 212LS Reata also features snap-in carpet for quick, easy cleaning. Other popular options include a bimini top, front and rear deck pads and multiple trailer wheel upgrades.

With so much to offer both the serious angler and the serious water sports enthusiast, the new Ranger 212LS Reata is destined to spend a lot of time on the water – as well as trailering to and from destinations. The boat comes equipped with its own custom-built RangerTrail trailer that is designed specifically for the model, delivering smooth, easy handling and proper weight distribution. Protected by a Road Armor finish and equipped with LED lights, aluminum wheels, COOL Hub lubrication system, matching fiberglass fenders, torsion axles and a locking, swing-away tongue, the RangerTrail trailer is built in the same factory and to the same exacting specifications of every Ranger boat for added peace of mind and enhanced resale value.
