NO BONDING REQUIRED WITH TRU-DESIGN BALL VALVES

While many boat owners need to replace thru hulls and bonding, users of Tru-Design Ball Valves from Raritan Engineering can take comfort knowing they won’t have to endure those processes. These valves can be assembled to a thru hull, eliminating the need for a bonding system. They’re suitable for use on all hull types; aluminum, steel, wood or FRP.

Designed for marine applications above and below the waterline, the Tru-Design Ball Valves are IMCI approved to ISO standard 9093-2, and are ideal for controlling inlet and outlet water requirements. They also comply with ABYC H-27, when fitted with the unique ABYC collar, as tested by an independent lab.

They’re offered with position monitoring or without. Position monitoring allows remote monitoring of the ball valve’s position, making it easy for owners to know if their valve is open or closed. The position monitoring circuit can also be used as part of an engine or generator start interlock to ensure they don’t start without cooling water available.

The body of the Ball Valve is manufactured from a glass-reinforced nylon composite with high tensile strength resulting in a lightweight unit that’s free from corrosion and electrolysis issues. The ABYC collar redistributes the fitting load to reduce stress on the valves, while the ball and sealing rings utilize a PTFE polymer to ensure smooth action for many years. The Ball Valve is available in both BSP and NPS thread forms and can be locked in the closed position for use on toilet waste outlets.

These Ball Valves feature a large, brightly colored handle for easy operation and simple viewing of the valve position. The valve position is also marked for easy identification. A monitor panel is available, which gives a visual indication of the ball valve’s position. The Ball Valve can be locked in the closed position for use on toilet waste outlets.

Impervious to bilge diesel, bilge oil and antifouling paints, the Tru Design Ball Valves are also UV resistant. They have a large operating temperature range of -4° to 176°F and are available in six sizes, ranging from 3/4″ to 2″.

Tru-Design Ball Valves from Raritan have a starting price of $74.80 for the 3/4″ size.
