B.A.S.S. member and avid angler, Rhonda Conway of Star, N.C., will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to fish with Bassmaster Elite Series pro Bobby Lane, next month, after winning the Bassmaster Fish In Florida With Bobby Lane Sweepstakes presented by Visit Florida.
“I didn’t believe it at first, and I am still in shock,” Conway said. “I think I have cried twice already.”
Conway will take a trip to Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Fla., after the second Bassmaster Elite Series event is over. Her husband, Steve, will go along with her. The trip includes airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations and $500 spending money.
In addition to getting the chance to fish with Bobby Lane, Conway also won a Humminbird Helix 10 SI fishfinder, Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor, Yamaha PW3028 pressure washer and a Power-Pole Micro Anchor with spike. She also received prize packs from Abu Garcia and Spiderwire, Phoenix Boats, Bob’s Machine Shop, Yozuri, Gillz and two pairs of Costa Del Mar Sunglasses. The total value of her winnings is $12,000.
Conway and her husband own a Triton boat, and after winning the sweepstakes, they are excited to add to it.
“I have been on a boat since I was 2 years old. I fished my first small tournament when I was 7 years old. I still fish wildcat and benefit tournaments in my hometown.
“My uncle used to babysit,” Conway said, “and that meant he was going fishing, and we were going with him. So to me fishing is everything; it’s all I really know.”
Conway was selected by random drawing out of 325,000 entries.

The lucky winner will receive a trip to fish with Gerald Swindle, including hotel accommodations, round-trip airfare, ground transportation and $500 cash. In addition, the winner will receive a Triton 17TX Boat with Mercury 60HP 4-stroke and more. The total value of the prize package is $32,500.
