Okuma Joins Cabela’s MASTERS WALLEYE CIRCUIT

Okuma Fishing Tackle has joined forces with the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit family as an associate sponsor for the 2012 tournament season.

“This is the culmination of a multi-year research and development project at Okuma,” said Brandon Cotton, Marketing Manager. “Our new Dead Eye walleye rods represent 24 technique-specific models that were developed directly for these anglers. We can’t wait to showcase them on the tour.”

“The MWC represents our exact audience,” Cotton continued. “These are the anglers that are fishing multiple techniques, desiring exacting performance from their presentations and paying attention to the slightest details. For Okuma and our new Dead Eye rods, this is a match made in Heaven.”

“Okuma is a great fit for us,” added Cabela’s MWC Executive Director Dan Johnson. “Their lineup of high-performance rods and reels?including the new Dead Eye walleye rods and Epixor spinning reels?are perfect for serious walleye fans. I’m sure they’ll be a hit with anglers across the Circuit.”

Across its stable of hard-fishing selections, Okuma maintains a commitment to creating dynamic, innovative products. Cabela’s MWC anglers will enjoy a special Okuma Premier Contingency, offering $1,000 in Okuma tackle at each qualifying tournament. Open to diehard anglers from all walks of life, the 2012 Cabela’s MWC trail includes nine qualifiers spread across six states in the Walleye Belt from Colorado to Ohio. Teams showcase their skills?and sponsor products?at world-class venues such as the Detroit, Illinois, Mississippi and St. Mary’s rivers, plus Lake Erie, Mille Lacs, Winnebago, Oahe and more.

Along with the experiential marketing opportunities of personally reaching thousands of ultra-avid walleye anglers and fans along the trail, Okuma Fishing Tackle taps the marketing power of Cabela’s MWC parent company, North American Media Group.
