Harold Moore of Caldwell & Bryan Lorh of Lumberton had what most would say was an “AMAZING DAY ” on the waters of Lake Sam Rayburn. Fishing out of their Phoenix / Yamaha rig they reported catching their fish in 25 – 27 feet of water off structure. They said their biggest one ( the 9.94 lb’er ) came off a worm on a Carolina rig, and they caught two of their other large fish on Crank baits. They fished Mid-lake and didn’t have a limit until 1:00pm. They reported that the water temp they were fishing was 82 degrees. Moore & Lohr would like to thank their familes and Sixth Sense Baits for their support. They took home a total of $1,875.00 for their winning weight and big bass…. What a stringer !!! Congratulations guys !!!
The team of Rusty Clark & Cory Rambo came in second with their limit of bass weighing in at 20.77 lbs. They took home $840.00 for their efforts on the water. Rusty and Cory would like to thank SEI ; Superior Energies Inc., Ranger Boats, Yamaha, Lews, Falcon, Big Bite Baits, Stout Builders Ltd., Landmark Staffing, Gama Line, Tackle Addict, 6thSense, Granger Chevrolet and Costa for all their support.Plus Ms. Jimmie and Ms. Aleena for their support of Rusty & Corys love of fishing….
Third place was won by the 2018 Rayburn Team Anglers of the Year, Tommy Hill & Bubba Frazier. Congratulations for that. Tommy & Bubba brought 5 fish to the scales that weighed 20.10 lbs., and they won $500.00 for their day of fishing. They will receive FREE entries for the Anglers Quest Rayburn Team Series in 2018.
The team of Doug McCain & Brett Matherne came in forth place with their limit weighing 19.19 lbs. Doug & Brett won $330.00 for their day on the water. Way to go guys !!!
There were 22 teams that came out in the August Heat to fish, and I appreciate each and every one of you. It was a tough day in the heat, hard on the fishermen and hard on the fish. I want to commend all of my guys for taking care of their fish. This time of year with the weights that were weighed in and the depths that the fish were brought out of, you will always loose a few. But you guys came through and almost all of the fish were released alive back in the lake to be caught again another day……
