Big Tex welcomed C.A.S.T./North with 25 mph wind and an 85% catch rate, not one fish but 2 or more per stringer. The black bass were near the back of the mid lake coves and the Smallies were on the windy main lake points.
Larry and Mary Lynn Wood usually launch on the Oklahoma side of the lake near their Ardmore home on Sunday morning and cross the lake in the dark to come to livewell check, but the wind was so bad they decided to make the 120 mile drive around to Highport Marina, come to the Saturday meeting and spend the night on the Texas side of the lake. This proved to be one of the best tournament decisions Larry and Mary Lynn made. During Sunday to land a nice 5 fish, 13.80 lb stringer. The Woods took home the first place trophy, a check for $650.00 and decided they didn’t mind the wind at all.
Danny and Amy Golden ran a close second with a stringer weight of 13.55 lbs. Their fish came on chrome/blue crank baits. The Goldenís also claimed second big bass of the tournament with a nice 4.05 lb black.
Lee and Patty Allen used a Mister Twister Exude Finesse worm in blue fleck to net the 6.05 lb big bass of the tournament.
The couples in the C.A.S.T./North region that have won Exude products as door prizes are excited at how well the bait produces. All of their comments are about the Exude slime coat that makes the plastic baits feel so realistic.
