Paddling Event on the Neches River

Folks,

Wouldn’t you like to put in and paddle the beautiful Neches River?

Here’s your opportunity!  We are having the Cherokee Neches FLOAT on the morning of Saturday, September 16, 2017.  We are making this as simple as possible for you.  Just register at the following link so we will know how many folks are going down the River and so we will have the personnel to get you back to the launch site.

The FLOAT is on the Texas Parks and Wildlife designated Cherokee Neches State Paddling Trail.  The put-in is at Neches River Run Park (2001 CR 3315, Jacksonville, TX 75766) where FM 747 (CR 3315, Cherokee County) crosses the Neches River and the take-out is at the Hwy. 79 Bridge. This trail usually takes 3-4 hours and is suitable for beginning paddlers.  A description of the Cherokee Neches Paddling Trail is on the following link:

You may use your own craft and have it liveried back to the launch site by River Run Park, or rent one of River Run Park’s limited number of kayaks and canoes.  Call River Run Park at 903-724-4100 to reserve your craft or schedule livery or go to www.riverrunpark.com.  Just register, reserve your craft or livery, and you are in for the Cherokee Neches FLOAT!  Specific details will follow to those registered.

The Cherokee Neches FLOAT is sponsored by Friends of the Neches River, Texas Conservation Alliance and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.

We hope to see you on the Neches River!

Until we put in again,

Michael
