Rambo and Wolford Capture Rayburn Win

Anglers Quest Rayburn Team #3

What a beautiful day to be on the water. The temperature started out in the mid 60’s Saturday morning and ended up in the 80’s around weigh-in time with a slight breeze out of the southwest about 5-10 mph….

There were 32 teams that came out to fish the third Anglers Quest Team event of 2018 on Sam Rayburn, with 20 limits caught, 106 fish, 332.35 pounds of bass…….. WOW !!!!

The team of Cory Rambo and Kevin Wolford brought the heaviest stringer to the scales, 5 bass weighing 24.57 lbs. Cory reports “ It was a grind for us. We caught our biggest fish in the last 5 minutes. Concentrated on mid-lake areas with 6th sense cloud 9 c 15 and Carolina rigging Big Bite Bait 6’ Pro Lizards.” Cory & Kevin would like to thank their Sponsors ; Rambo Outdoors, GTI, Granger Chevrolet, 6th Sense, Big Bite Baits, Falcon Rods, Costa Sunglasses, Gamma, Lew’s, Ranger Boats, Premier Yamaha, Stout Homebuilders and Landmark Staffing. Cory and Kevin took home the first place check of $1,700.00. Kevin was drawn to take the Polygraph and I am happy to say he passed with flying colors….Way to go guys !!!

Dale Gore & Billy Eddins came in second place with their five fish weighing 22.59 lbs. Mr. Gore reported;

“We caught all of our fish, except the big one on Texas rigged Craw worms in  6 to 8 feet of water. We caught our big fish on a Carolina rigged in 8 to 9 feet of water.” Their “big one” was the biggest bass of the day, a nice 8.90 lb’er. Gore & Eddins won a total of $ 1,320.00 for both second place and big bass, and would like to thank their Sponsor;  Dales Water Wells for their support. Congratulations guys !!!

The third place was the team of Roy Carroway & Brig Luce. These guys were fishing out of a Skeeter FX21 mid lake , in about 3 to 6 feet of water using Senkos and Rattle Traps. Roy reported “ We probably caught 40 fish, culled 5 times but had 2 fish at 2.5lbs that we just couldn’t catch any bigger to cull them.” Third place took home $730.00 for their day on the water…. Way to hustle guys !!!

Fourth place was held by the team of Phillip Crelia & TJ Goodwyn. These guys brought their 5 fish limit to the scales that weighed 20.51 lbs. Mr. Crelia reported that fishing out of their Legend / Mercury rig, “ We caught ‘em flippin’ bushes with Strike King Rage Bugs.” And he went on to say that they probably caught at least 30 fish all day…… Phillip and TJ took home $560.00 for their fourth place finish….

Fifth place was the team of Matthew Totten & Mike Totten. Matthew reported “ I’m running a Skeeter Yamaha boat motor combo. We spent most of our day  flipping trees and throwing Senkos. We caught a total of 10 fish and had our limit by 10:00am. Caught our big fish early in the morning and started culling after 12pm. Only culled a couple of times.” Matthew and Mike won the fifth place money of $480.00.  You guys Rock !!!

The team of Clarence Denby and Gary McDonald took the last place money spot for $250.00. Clarence is just now getting back into fishing after a debilitating auto accident last year that broke his back among other serious injuries…. Glad to see you doing well and back into fishing sir!!!!

I would like to thank all the fishermen and women that support Anglers Quest. It means a lot to me that you choose to fish with Anglers Quest.

A special Thank You to Tommy and Paul of LakeView RV, Motel & Grocery  for all their help with taking care of the fish, safely releasing them back into the lake and giving us a great location to hold the Anglers Quest Events.
