C.A.S.T./North Couples arrived at Lake Cypress Springs in a close race for Top 6 and high hopes for a good tournament. They found the lake level at normal pool, light winds and the bass in a biting mood. The majority of our couples weighed fish and it seems the fish liked everything from top water to crank baits and soft plastics. The lake not only produced some nice largemouths but lots of “keeper” Kentucky’s were brought to the scales.
Rayford and Diane Richman Carolina-rigged a flat near deep water with a green pumpkin Exude Baby B-A-Hawg and landed a great stringer that weighed-in at 17.60 lbs. Rayford & Diane’s winning stringer was anchored by the Big Bass of the tournament that tipped the scales at 5.45 lbs. The Richman’s took home a nice $711.00 check for their day of fishing with C.A.S.T. / North.
Dan Jezek & Terri Anderson Carolina-rigged soft plastics on a deep main lake point to take second place with another great stringer that weighed-in at 16.00 lbs
Don Brown & Elizabeth Parker fished the upper end of the lake with a weightless Chartreuse pepper/red flake Exude 5″ Poc’it Fry. Elizabeth landed a nice black that weighed-in at 4.50 lbs for second Big Bass of the tournament.

The final C.A.S.T. / North tournament of the year will be held at Lake Bridgeport August 1st. Sign-up will be at the First Methodist Church in Decatur on Saturday July 31st. Launch will be from the public ramp at Chico Park.
