The Ark-Tex region held its final tournament for the 2010 season on Sunday at Cypress Springs under clear skies with typical June hot temperatures; fortunately for all our couples the wind was blowing. Even with the hot weather and wind most of our couples were able to find fish with several bass over the four pound mark. About half of our couples found a limit of fish to bring to the scales. As always couples were using a variety of baits; flukes, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits seemed to be the choice for most folks.
1st Place was taken home by Rayford & Diane Richman with a nice sack of fish weighing in at 16.92 lbs. Diane told us she really had too much work to do, getting ready for a trip they are planning, but Rayford wanted to fish his favorite lake! All in all Diane was thrilled with the outcome. Congratulations to you both!!! We wish you Godspeed on your trip.
2nd Place went to Mitchel & Jan Stuteville with a limit of fish weighing 15.04 pounds. They were able to pull all of their fish from one area of the lake. Good thing, since their trolling motor gave out shortly after they started fishing on Sunday. Mitchel used a push pole to move them around the area where they had found their fish. Jan said, Mitchell made a really good trolling motor! Way to Go you two, that’s teamwork!!
3rd Place were long time members of C.A.S.T., Larry & Betty Yarborough, with a good sack of five bass weighing 14.25 lbs. Larry & Betty were pleased to take home a check at the final tournament of the year. Good job both of you!
The Big Bass weighed 6.16 pounds and anchored our first place winners, Rayford & Diane Richman’s five bass stringer. An excellent fish for the month of June!!!
“Ladies Big Bass” and recipient of the Big Al’s Texas Rubs sponsored prize was Sharon Stroman with a nice 5.10 pound bass. Congratulations Sharon!
