The Association of Collegiate Anglers and the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series are excited to announce that the registration for the series’ Texas Collegiate Challenge presented by Abu Garcia opens February 8.
The creation of the new event is now offering college anglers a fourth opportunity to compete in the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series and earn valuable points towards the Cabela’s School of the Year points April 30 on Lake Texoma. The event will consist of a standard tournament format of two angler teams fishing for victory with their best five bass. Lake Texoma is the most diverse lake in the region and collegiate anglers can expect to catch a mixed bag of largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass during this event.
“Denison is very honored to host the Texas Collegiate Challenge presented by Abu Garcia here on Lake Texoma,” said Melanie Truxal with the Denison Area Chamber of Commerce. “This is a phenomenal area for fishing and our community loves having anglers fish here. We are ready to welcome the 2017 Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series to Denison!”
