The third tournament of the year was on the Mississippi River at Le Tourneau Landing in Vicksburg. There was 16 fish caught at 48.83 lb. and all released alive. This is an excellent fishery with great potential when the river level is right.
It was raining when the couples took off and raining up until they all came in. About 20 minutes before weigh-in it stopped and as we were leaving it started again. We were very proud of our couples for fishing in such weather since this was the second month in a row they had to fish in rainy conditions.
We would like to welcome our newest couple Renee and Tac Caruthers to our couples trail. Tac is the son of Joy and Tom that have been with us since we started. Tac knew just were to go as well as his dad, with Renee and Tac Caruthers coming in first and catching the big bass of the day that weighed in at 4.54 lb. Joy and Tom Caruthers came in a close second. Followed by Paula and Jimmy Carruth who had not been on this fishery for almost twenty years. Christy and Michael Savell brought in one fish but it counted like the others. Chanta Brittain and Keith Courtney along with Lisa Bacon and Ron Fears just couldn’t find that right spot but fished all day just like the rest.
