Anglers Quest 2010 Lake Houston Individual Series #8 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 5 anglers showing up to fish for the $675.00 purse. This 8th Houston event of 2010 was started at 6:35 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Lake Houston Individual Series after all 9 events will provide the Angler of the year with free entries to all 2011 Houston Individual Series events.

— All A/Q lake series championships have been reinstated for 2010 and will be done on home series lakes. The teams qualifying for any championship will automatically qualify for all 4-lake series Championships. Top 25 in pounds from any Weekend Team with 5 events entered or 4 Individual Series with a minimum of 4 events entered will also qualify for championships. If you qualify for any A/Q Championship you will also qualify to go to the 2-day “Tournament of Champions” on November 13-14 on Lake Palestine.

Lake Houston water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps running 86-88 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 71 degrees with a warming to 92 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was poor on Lake Mud today as there was only 1 limit brought to the scales for a total of 11 bass at 22.96 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.08 lb. The Tiremax wrapped Bowden Marine BassCat/Rude of Ricky Guy from Humble, Tx ran to the north lake area to catch his bass throwing crank baits in 2-6 ft of water. Ricky only managed to catch 5 keepers to finish in 1st place with 9.11 lbs. These 5 bites made Ricky $600.00 for his day on the water. Ricky did collect another $25.00 from Bass Guard for having a Bass Guard culling system on board.

The Bass Guard wrapped BassCat/Mercury of Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran to the north lake areas to catch his bass throwing small crank baits with his American Rodsmiths Rods and Shimano reels in 1-5 ft of water. Chris managed to catch 4 keepers to finish in 2nd place with 7.31 lbs.

Alan Miettinen from Crosby run his Champion/Mercury to the north end and brought the Big Bass of the day to the scales at 3.92 lbs and took home $50.00 for his catch.

Nathan Long from Cleveland, Tx ran his Tracker/Mercury bass rig to north lake creek areas to catch his 1 bass at 2.62 lbs using a small chartreuse crank bait around docks & piers with brush in 2-6 ft of water and took home the Santone Lures & ZZ Lures Gift Certificates for his day on the water.

Then on Wednesday September 1st A/Q will be at the 23rd & last Wednesday Conroe series hosted by El Dorado Jack’s. Entry fee $100.00 per team…NO membership or championship fees.

On September 11th & 12th A/Q will be at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston for the 9th & last Weekend Team & Individual Series events for 2010. On September 18th & 19th A/Q will be at Lake Conroe at El Dorado Jack’s for the final 2010 Individual Series on Saturday & the Team Series on Sunday. A/Q will be back at Lake Houston September 25th & 26th for the 9th & last Houston Weekend Team Series & Individual events for 2010.
